Grant Tracy

Grant graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree from Sydney University (Cumberland Campus) back in 1989. Over the years he has done many short courses in Physiotherapy, Sports Injury, Osteopathy, Rock-taping, and Biomechanics. He has over 30 years of experience working in private practice. If you have an injury, chances are that Grant has treated it before.

Over the last 30 years, he has looked after many sporting teams at both elite and junior levels. He has moved location several times when he has outgrown that location.
I want Physio to be great again like it used to be. Helping others is a privilege that I don’t take lightly.

Nick Perry
Physiotherapist – DPT, BExSSc Nick is a passionate
physiotherapist who completed the Doctor of Physiotherapy at Macquarie University after his undergraduate Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at ACU, graduating with a dean’s commendation. While on clinical placements and working as a personal trainer, Nick discovered how rewarding the field of physiotherapy can be and developed a passion for helping people recover and get back to living life to the fullest. Throughout Nick’s postgraduate physio studies, his fascination continued to grow for how the body works and how all the puzzle pieces of a condition and the individual’s unique path to recovery all fits together.
Nick has acquired a range of experience through his time at places like St George Hospital in the neurology ward, the Royal North Shore Pain Management Clinic and Arcadia Pittwater Private Hospital for rehabilitation where he now works part-time. This solidified his interest in physiotherapy and developed a particular skill for rehabilitation after surgery. Nick enjoys working with individuals who have just had surgery, to be able to quickly return them to their daily life and sports as quick as possible.
Nicks determination comes from his long history and love for challenging himself through competing in different sports from a young age. Nick loves skiing during the winter months and competed in interschools during his schooling years. During the summer months you can always find Nick around the water, patrolling at North Steyne beach as a lifesaver and competing in surf boat rowing local, state, and national carnivals in addition to the televised Ocean Thunder series.
Nick is driven by a desire to further his physio skills and knowledge, Nick was referred to Grant for his expertise and history of developing successful young physios. Nick is a fan of Grants approach to physiotherapy and seized the opportunity to continue to learn and develop his skills from the years of knowledge and experience Grant has to offer.
Nick has a particular interest in:
- Post-surgical prehab and rehab
- Hip and knee rehabilitation
- Rowing, sailing, and skiing injuries
You will see Nick in the clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Fred Nichols
Biomechanist
Fred has been an amazing teacher and “locum” to our business for 20 years. He has taught the staff at Balgowlah for over the last 25 years, all about orthotics, biomechanics, and the lower limb. He often comes across, all the way from Kirrawee to cast my patient’s feet, if they present with a difficult problem.
He has made orthotics for little old ladies, sports stars, and weekend warriors, and we are lucky to have such a dedicated and talented orthotist on our team.
Kyla
PhysiotherapistHi! I’m Kyla one of the Physiotherapy aids and Balgowlah sports injury and physio. I am currently at Macquarie University studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports science. Growing up I always tagged along with mum to her physio appointments and it really inspired me to become one, to help people enjoy everyday life without pain. Ever since I could walk I’ve always played sports, combined with injuries, I knew physiotherapy would be a great profession to be in!
Mia Velarde
Physiotherapist assistantMia is one of our physiotherapist aides working in the practice at Balgowlah Sports Injury and Physiotherapy. She is a Football (soccer) referee in the NSW NPL Women’s and Men’s competitions – which occupies a lot of her time when she is out of the practice.
